Although deaths in Ontario are not closed, no index is published for them until 70 y after the death, so you're stuck with checking for newspaper obits and graveyard records.

Could someone do me a lookup - i spoke with my Mum this weekend and it would seem that we have photo's of Robert Watson aged 80 - so any chance we could look for any deaths in the 1950's in Toronto

I have been trying to look on census - but cannot seem to get anywhere re 1921

There's something else about that 1917 marriage cert.
The bride's stated she was a widow and 42yrs old = yob circa 1865.
( Corrected yob 1875)

Her maiden name was Harrow rather than Harron.

The parents listed for Annie didn't marry until 22 Dec 1871 (Perth, Perthshire, Scotland)

Ontario B/M/Ds are closed for 97/82/70 y - well, strictly speaking, deaths are not closed, but there's no index available for 70 y.
So the latest available is 1916/1931/1943, but the latest online index is Ancestry's, and goes to 1913/1928/1938.

Could it be his first wife and son from that marriage on the photo? Do you have any clues as to when the photo was taken?

There's something wrong with the marriage transcription that you've posted - I've just looked at it on Ancestry and it shows his birth year as 1871, not 1861. His age on the actual record is 46 and the marriage year is 1917.

His occupation is Teamster.

He also says he's a bachelor ......

suspect they are to old - but my mother has a photo of him and his wife with his son??

Robert Watson married Annie Paterson in 1898 at Greenock West. Son of Samuel and Susan . Annie (Paterson ) Watson died in Greenock in 1942. Her daughter Margaret Mills signed her death cert. Margaret Wooler Watson daughter of RW and AP was born in Greenock West in 1905.
