Hi,
I have a Louise/Louisa Player born 1858 in Westminster to a Samuel Player and Sarah Creamer. I have her in all censuses except the 1861???? She went on to marry Jerome Moon in 1885.

Thanks.

Seems the whole family is missing??? Anyone know if anything was happening around 1861??

Victoria

Victoria Report 4 Jul 2011 16:54

Is it normal for a whole family to have just dissapeared???

Vera

Vera Report 4 Jul 2011 16:57

Some of the 1861 census pages are missing......here are some of the places from Middlesex

•Middlesex (including London) – all these parishes are part-missing: Inner Temple, St Bride, St Dunstan-in-the-West (hamlets Cliffords Inn and Serjeants Inn, Chancery Lane are missing), St Gregory by St Paul, St Mary Staining, St Michael-le Quern.

Although it doesn't include where they lived in 1871.

In 1871 they were living in St. Margaret, they are still there in 1881 so I am assuming thats where they were? And in 1851 Samuel was living there with his parents so seems likely he stayed local. Would that come under one of the parishes? Why are they missing??

Vera Report 4 Jul 2011 17:25

Some were damage by flood( water) and some just had pieces missing.

Really annoying, but unfortunately nothing to be done!!

So is it likely that St margaret fell under those damaged?

Vera

Vera Report 4 Jul 2011 17:30

Hi Victoria,
Can't actually say for certain, as it doesn't state St Margarets on the pieces missing....unless St Margarets came under another name.

Try putting in Westminster, parish St Margaret (no names)

Find My Past brings up 19 households...

(would have a look, but must get in kitchen!)

if this is Martha's birth - the certificate would possibly help with an address ?

Sorry for delay, for some reason not all messages were showing, only one from Chris, need to refresh more often!

No I dont have her birth cert, may order that as it would help wouldn't it? On the registration index her birth shows as Westminster, St Margaret.

Thank you for your help so far everyone x

According to the description for enumeration districts; District 6 should have Dacre Street (where they were living in 1871 census) in it but I'm blowed if I can see it!!!
