Searching for George Mott B1698 Berners Roding/Brick End Essex who married Sarah Cass ? from Takeley Essex. This is the same family line I have been searching. I have their two children as George B Feb 1720 Stanford Rivers and Sarah B1720/21 Takeley. I cannot guarantee these are correct.
George 's parents appear to be Joseph Mott B1670 Berners Roding Essex and a Susannah Paveley ?. There is a brother Joseph B1696 at Berners Roding. I would like to find any further information about this family which is my direct line. Pittsy

Pittsy,
It looks like there were two Alfreds, I did note the first one down but didn't post it as I was uncertain about the date which I had noted as 1? July 1830. It could have been 1 or 3. I couldn't find a death for the first one but there was an infant from Little End buried on 2 Nov 1930, which I have as Arthur but I'll recheck that next time I go to the ERO.

Yes I did some checking and you are correct Emma Mott married William Noakes 1855 West Ham. I found her in the 1871 Census which confirms her place of birth as Stanford Rivers also. Many thanks for finding this for me. I will search through all the other censuses to find out more about her. This is a real break through as I have not been able to find her for years.

Re this below from your earlier post "From the Parish Register of Stanford Rivers baptisms for children of John and Mary Mott between 1830 and 1840 were: Emma on 2 Sep 1832 Alfred on 3 Aug 1834 Ann on May 25 1837 (she was buried on 29th May) John Mott was a carpenter and they lived at Little End (about half a mile from the village of Stanford Rivers)."
I had Alfred baptised at Little End Stanford Rivers on 3/7/1830. Would be interested in confirming this 3/8/1834 date. The entry for his death in 1883 at S Rivers gives his age at 52 so would like to find out more about this also.
Emma and Ann match what I have. The children in the family (parents John Mott Mary Holgate) were William 1813, Mary 1815, Charles 1816, Eliza 1819 John 1820 Susannah 1822 George 1824 Joseph 1826 Frederick 1828 Alfred 1830 Emma 1831 Anne 1837
Thanks Pittsy

Susan, according to the later census was born in Loughton but we worked out that she is the daughter of William Mott born 1814. She was with her grand parents in 1841 as William had been widowed. He re-married in 1842. It's all on page 1

There were two other Mott couples producing children at that time: John & Elizabeth, John being a wheelwright of Little End and William & Florrie?, William being a farmer of Coleman's Farm.
There was no sign of Susan Mott born around 1839.

Always consider this when looking at the 1841 census -
Note: In the 1841 Census a policy of rounding down ages was in place.
* As such people aged: * 15-19 were recorded as 15; * 20-24 were recorded as 20; * 25-29 were recorded as 25; * 30-34 were recorded as 30; * 35-39 were recorded as 35;
This means that Emma could have been 5-9 years old in 1841?
