Find Ancestors

Hello can anyone help me as i'm stuck. I have got a birth for a JOHN GIBBS and on the cert it said his mum is REBECA GIBBS formaly JONES but when i try and look for her in the census i can't find her anywhere and in the 1851 census he was a widow, any help would be much appreciated.

Who was a widow/widower ??

What dates are we looking at and where did this all take place??

the JOHN GIBBS was born in 1814 he can be found in the 1851 census but not with REBECA . it was JOHN that was the widow in the 1851 census, she was alive in 1847 thats when the last child was born JOHN was born in herefordshire but as for REBECA i don't know anything about her only her name that was on JOHN'S birth cert

When and where was John born? What was his father's name? Father's occupation? You said you had the certificate.

You need the marriage cert, to find out how old she was....and her father's details (if known)

JOHN was born in HEREFORDSHIRE and his parents were JAMES GIBBS and REBECCA GIBBS formaly JONES and his fathers occupation was a PRINTER

So is this a father named John with a son John ?

, if it was JAMES, he isn't the Widower in 1851.....his name is JOHN, and he's a FARMER
