	Thanks for all the very helpful information. Unfortunately I don't have a marriage certificate. The Waddington connection looks especially hopeful, particularly as I had a duff link before I realised that West Bradford was nothing to do with Bradford city. I'll do an IGI lookup, and try the Lancashire parishes records with the new information thanks again John

	Ann thanks very much for the info. I was sure I'd got the line right, but not only did I get the marriage wrong, I also got confused between Bradford city and West Bradford. The Varley marriage also explains a marriage reference on lan-opc to Edward being the father of a bride called Elizabeth Varley. Thanks again. best wishes John :-)

	Jonesey thanks for the info. This ties in with mine, and possibly with a 1941 entry which may have ages for the parents wrong by 10 years. thanks again John

	John, In the 1841 census enumerators were instructed to reduce the age of anyone older than 15 to the nearest 5 or 0 below. Eg someone aged 21, 22,23 or 24 would be shown as 20 years old. Most but not all enumerators carried out those instructions.
