Was his father perhaps in the army, which could account for him being born in St Helena even though it was a French territory. |

Despite the above marriage- nice find by the way! - I would still be inclined to purchase the marriage cert. If nothing else you might find the witnesses hold a clue, and there might be an address which helps. |

OH don't say that Jan..... There a Edward collins in st helens, gurnsey.... he was some sort of priest. Ended up in this country. I can remember where. |
