Find Ancestors

Hi, wonderd if anyone can help.
It was always though my 3 x gt Grandmother's maiden name was Leahy,I did not know her first name.It was also said that she died when her only child Ann was very young. I have found a marriage which is about the right time in Liverpool Set qtr 1854 for a Mary Ann Leahy but on the page there are three ladies and only two men and Michael O'Connor is not there.I have tried with the volume and page number and various other things but no luck. I don't want to send for the certificate because it may not be the right one.I have also found a death for Mary Ann Connor Sept qtr 1854.Does anyone know of any other options, or am I going to have to send for the certificate regardless??

You need to get the birth certificate of her daughter Ann.
And then see what maiden name is on there for Ann's Mother, and act accordingly.

My problem is that there are several Ann Connors/O'Connor, born at the time scale I am looking at and that would meab buying several which is very expensive!!

When and where was her daughter born and what was her full name?

These were marriage for Michael Connor in Liverpool Sept qtr 1854. There aren't any for a Michael O'Connor

Ann Connors/O'Connor said she was 54 on 1911 census (in her own handwriting) but that differs by a couple of years in other census, so I thought she would have been born about 1856.on freeBMD there are several Ann's born around that time so that isn't much help, sorry I dont have any more information.Ann was born in Liverpool, forgot to put that.

Ann married Edward Marsh but he died in 1910. Ann filled all parts of the census in and the adjudicator just put a thin line through the things she didn't need to fill in!!The census was at Retford, Notts

Ann claims to be born in Retford , Notts in 1911.

I still don't know for sure if this is the definate mother of Ann, am just put in the things I had found, but I made a mistake the death i saw was Sept 1855, and there was a birth in June 1855.

On the census she put Liverpool Lancs for her birth, I have the copy here in front of me.

Yes thats right, on her marriage certificate her Father was Michael O'Connor a Stoker.
