I am so impressed with your reply, I have not replied through threads before, only direct to the member. Basil Charles Slaughter (Shipley) came out in 1931 to Fremantle Western Australia. I got this info from findmypast. He was the result of an affair between Charles Orby Shipley and a Agnes Williams (not sure if it is Agnes). My friend has only given me scketchy info on this family. Anthony Shipley was the nephew of Basil Charrles Slaughter. Basil's half brother Conway William Carew died in 1956 at the time Anthony Shipley was a captain in the Royal Artillery Hong Kong. The daughter of Basil said the wife of Charles Orby Shipley was Katherine Carew Ballinamona Waterford, but I think she was Katherine Jane Carew who married Charles Orby Shipley in 1890 in Cheltenham. I have not got back to her as yet. I also found a Conway Carew Shipley death in waterfordcountylibrary as In memory of Major Conway Carew Shipley late 24th Regiment died Seaville Tramore NOv 1st 1956. Graveyard The Abbey Kilcull;iheen Ferrybank Waterford. It also mentions he is the father of Captain Anthony Shipley Royal Artillery, Hong Kong, aged 65., in the Wat. News 9th Nov 1956.
