Okay this is a long shot.
In the 1800's a man surnamed Cutler had (at least) 3 sons. When this man passed away, he left his massive fortune to the 3 sons. 2 of the sons argued with another and he joined the Navy, jumped ship in Liverpool and his Cutler side settled there (he had a son in 1889 born in Liverpool if that helps with the timeline).
I'm looking for anyone from the Cutler side who remained in Norfolk, to try and add some missing pieces to the family tree.
I don't have much info at all as yet. I will add to this if I find any.
It is a long shot but any advice / info would be grateful.

Sorry Lindsey that's literally all I know. I was really hoping that someone who was a relative would read this and they'd know what I was talking about and get in contact with me.
Jax, that Cutler from Liverpool in 1889 is my Great Grandfather. It was his father who was one of the 3 sons, and the one who skipped town from Norfolk.

Thanks for your help guys, just a bit of confusion. I looked over my notes. Here's the clarification.
Joseph Cutler was born in LIVERPOOL in 1889.
His father was born in LIVERPOOL, and
HIS father was born in NORFOLK. This man, born in Norfolk had 2 brothers (at least) and inherited money from a 'rich' father who passed away.
Sorry for the confusion. And thanks for helping. Like I said, it's a major long shot...

I just did a general search of all UK censuses 1851-1901 (1841 doesn't show birthplace) for Cutler in Lancashire born in Norfolk.
There's one, Ethel M Cutler aged 11, a visitor, in 1901.
Hmm.

Thanks for that. I'm on the phone to my grandmother at the moment. Joseph Edward Cutler was born in the 1880's in the 'Almas/Almos Pub' or something.
There's also a reference to 'Gonville Road' possibly number 48.
I really do appreciate all your help guys. Thanks for bearing with me. It may be that he lied about his birthplace as he 'jumped ship' while in the Navy which I'm told was a capital offence back then. I think it may be hard to track. I may hav to go order the birth certificates and trace it that way.

On an older thread you said your grandmother was a Cutler with MMN Flynn.
I'm guessing this must be her parents' marriage:
Marriages Mar 1930 Cutler Joseph E Flynn W.Derby 8b 477 Flynn Ellen Cutler W. Derby 8b 477
Since the marriage is in 1930, was Joseph E really born in the 1880s or was he this one?

His wife was a 'Jolly'. We think it may have been Emily Eliza Jolly, born around 1884. There was definitely a JOLLY link.
