Hi all,

Can anyone please find a Joseph Southway, c1816 wife Eliza c1809-1815 and daughter Ann 1838, possible in Weston Town, Evercreech, Somerset.

I have found them on all other Census.

They married in 1837 in Evercreech and Ann was born 1838 in Evercreech, Ann died in Australia

No I don't think she was married before.

Not sure about this, but the age of Joseph is very unclear on the original.

There is a 'known problem' in 1841 with piece 942, Somerset ....parish Mells

Edit: Wonder if this is one of those cases where male and female baptisms are entered in different books and LDS has only recorded the males. I've come across that before.

Do you know that Ann survived past 1841

There are a number of other children - daughters Elizabeth 1841, Mary 1846, Emily 1851, Elizabeth 1854 and son James 1860

Ann is on 1851 as a servant, aged 12

Yes, I didn't record James because mother was listed as Elizabeth not Eliza. I still think the listings I have are just male baptisms.

Interesting, my gg grandmother was Mary, there are a number of trees that she is not on, now I know why, probably wasn't baptised!!
