I have ordered the marriage certificate for Jane Chalk and Thomas Cole. When this arrives I will come back and let you know whether this has solved the mystery of the missing Jane. |

Thank you for suggestions about Jane Cole. I hadn't come across that name before and shall now follow it up. The Jane Chalk I am seeking is definately the younger sister of Frances, born in Whiteparish, Wilts in 1842. Frances was the oldest of the children of James Chalk and Ann Hatcher. The other siblings were James, Annie, Mary Temperance, Frank and Emma. |

As Gwyn has said the sister Frances lived in Chipstead it looks quite possible that this could be the correct Jane |
