	This seems to be the website to verify the entries in the prayer book. Service record should give clue on birth. How to find army records for the Boer War [Archive] - B-G ... 	If you go to Freebmd and specify marriages for Shipley/Birks in Staffs you will see 2 possibles. This might be the link.
