Hi Keith, Islandin the rain, has made a good point, why not get in touch with the CHESHIRE FAMILY HISTORY SOCIETY, they may well be able to you. There are a number of "CORBRIDES "recorded.
It may be her married name, perhaps it may have been her last wish to be buried in PORINGLAND,NORFOLK.
It's worth a punt as they say.

hi i thought no family left because of her age .an assumption perhaps i should not have made .children grandchildren possible
i got info (or rather somebody else did and emailed me a copy
it was from offices at Walton crem who have records of all Warrington cemeterys.it states in plot Robert Price ..Alice Price ..William Joseph price
no undertaker info avalible .dates of buriel and container coffin.
Mary Corbridge burial of ashes and her age 100
it also has conversion next to all names apart from William no idea what this is not religious conversion in the cases of Robert and Alice
thanks to all who have given advice
i will try to unravel this .will post answer when i do .i am going to go to local library to see if there is an obituary in local paper for her as in the past i have found info from these

I haven't found a birth or marriage for a Mary Cobridge in Norfolk so assume that was her married name?
Also no Cobridges on any census for Norfolk. (FMP)

I have a whimsical notion of a neice taking charge of arrangements as can happen with maiden or long widowed great/aunts.

that is a great thought .got the adress from info on details of grave gives her adress as Poringland Norwich Norfolk
i wonder if somebody brought her ashes to Warrington (silly statement i know obviously somebody did)
or i wonder if she married in Warrington then lived there

Does it say she was born in Norfolk ...or that she lived there?

If she lived there in 1997 maybe she would feature in old electoral lists and you could check who else was at the address.... Might have to go back a few years though, but at 100 she is likely to have perhaps died in a home.....

I think that I have cracked it.

You say that your gt uncle William Joseph Price, his wife Alice and son Robert are burried in this plot also one Mary Corbridge. (that is what I have read from your posts, and I have gone by the names you have put)

So if I am correct and not barking up the wrong tree, it looks like Mary is burried with her parents and brother.

That looks good LA - and there seems to be 3 children born in Wandsworth to that Corbridge / Price marriage. (son 1923, daughter 1926 and another daughter in 1928).

Hi Keith. you will have noticed that I enrered the two locations the wrong way round ref: the burial location, but I'm sure you know what I meant.
Put it down to my "AGE",however the principal point is still the same.

There was a Mary Corbridge recorded in Porlingham Norfolk, can't be sure but there may be family connection(not with me) I just live in Norfolk!.

Sorry if I muddied the waters, will pay more attention in future.

you are very good at solving puzzles .my William Joseph was a head teacher in aldershot indeed he was born in Aldershot then travelled with his parents his father was in the army .so his siblings were born in different places but Williams father died in Warrington barracks
James thank you i searched Norfolk but could not find her .but she was born in Norwich. Norfolk .
so thank you everybody who has helped me you are very generous with your time and i am gratfull
i was so puzzeled as the only child i knew William had was Robert.

YES They often buried babies and children in the same coffin as a stranger if parents could not affford it, the body was just put in the same coffin and not marked on the headstone

Hi , was just reading ur thread , please tell me if I have got this right that after 70 years . The church where my gtgrandfather and gtgrandmother is buried they can use it for someone else ....... I really don't like the thought of that. Please tell me that I'm wrong I'n my assumption

Whilst doing my research I found that a cemetery had been re-used. All the headstones were put in a section of the churchyard and then the grounds were re-used.

Unless a burial plot is purchased then it can be used for other people after a certain length of time (I think the length of time is different for different cemeteries). Not sure if it is the same for churchyards.

Even if you purchase a grave you only own it for so long and then have to pay again to keep the rights to it.

Ok so I would have to pay for another 70 years , the reason why I ask is because me and my uncle where talking and he was told after 70 years they could use my gtgrand parents plot for someone else . How would I find out how much to pay for another 70 years kath thanks for reply .

Because I thought for a moment my uncle was pulling my leg , silly I no but I really wasn't sure

Get in touch with the people who own/run the cemetery for precise details.

If the cemetery doesn't have a cemetery office in it (which some have) then contact the local council offices for the area and ask for the cemeteries department. They should be able to tell you when the lease to the grave runs out and how much it will cost to renew.

I am in the process of applying to have a current lease transferred and it is more involved than I was initially led to believe.
It may well vary from one council to another so I would be interested to know how you get on.
