Find Ancestors

Can anyone help me take my tree back further than my grandad's parents please?? Everything seems to lead to a dead end. My grandad was George Henry Reynolds b17/10/23, 4 Willow Walk, Farnborough, Kent. (He served in the army, so if anyone turns up anything on that, that would be great as I have no information on that either).
His parents were Elizabeth Annie Tullett (although I think this is sometimes mistranscribed as Jullett). She was born c1888 Bromley, Kent & died Q1 1977, Wandsworth. She married Thomas Reynolds in 1909, a general labourer, & from their marriage certificate, I know his father's name was George, but I can't get any further on either side. Any help, information or leads would be very gratefully received.

thank you brummiejan...no I don't have 1911. I think it was mentioned that my grandad had two sisters, but no one knew much about them because of the age difference, so what you've found looks great, thank you.
and thank you safc.makes sense if elizabeth's mother was ellen for her to give the name to one of her daughters as brummiejean found,so hopefully its all coming together.

hi maureen, thank you for what you've found. can I just check with you as I'm very much a novice at this & easiyl get confused working backwards!! Ellen, according to what everyone else has found was Elizabeths mother (plus two siblings) but as it says she was a widow, would Robert not be listed as 'deceased' on birth cert rather than labourer, or is that not how it works? v interesting tho thank you again.

Does it tell you if Robert is deceased on the marriage cert?

Marriage certs and deceased fathers are always a problem! Unless she was asked-is your father alive? Why mention it? She knew his name and that was that.

Elizabeth's marriage cert has father Robert Tullett labourer. but on you census her mother was a widow by the time she was 3. but as you say, if you're asked your father's occupation, not if he's alive or dead, I suppose you just answer it! is it safe to assume it's still all the same family? it seems to make sense.
