I am trying to find out about my Grandmother Alice McDonald who was born in Dundee Scotland in 1899. She landed up in South Africa with her parents when a small girl, but I am led to believe they went to Australia when she was about 3 years old. They lived in MaDonald road in Durban when in South Africa. Can anybody help me please. |

Thank you everybody for you assistance and to Marion who has found them in the 1901 Scottish Census which explains the Australian connection. I would still like to hear how they got there and why. The family emigrated to South Africa after living in Scotland, but I don't know when. Her father was James Row Mcdonald, and her mother was Amy ?Rowe ? died 29.8.1946 in England/Scotland. All the children moved to South Africa and died there. |

Thanks to everybody for all this information. This all seems to fit the picture. Any more information will be most appreciated. Amy must have been Moore although I can;t be 100% certain. It all looks so ttrue. |
