Thanks. Does it make any difference if Catherine is spelt Catharine or even Katherine/Katharine (I'm thinking of Mazilla's many 'names'). |

Not seeing Catherine and Henry yet in 1901 but perhaps this could be William? |

A big thank you to all who have given information, especially 'rootgatherer'. It has been most useful indeed. |

It looks like little Elizabeth was abandoned by Mazilla (now married to W Whitehead) and left with her grandparents, probably not so unusual in those days (or even now!). |

A marriage certificate will give you the name of Mazilla's father and his occupation. This is a possible for Elizabeth but you need to know her Grandfather's name to confirm. |

Not sure about the daughter Elizabeth. If she had been William's daughter you would have thought that she would be living with them in 1861. How do you know of her please? |

Geoff, I think it looks like she married 3 times. You probably would be best to buy the 1872 marriage certificate to checkout the husbands name but it certainly looks like your lady. If it was my tree, I would want to be sure of the facts before adding them. |

That's great, any luck with the illegitimate daughter Elizabeth Hopkins 1855? I supppose she may have been W Whitehead's anyway and may have taken his name when they married? What do you think? |
