Googled and found this - you could try contacting the Parish Priest: |

I would think a baptism would be the best way to go - you have the date and church from the Boys Home details. St Catherine's Birmingham does seem to have a website but only a blank page is coming up: |

I doubt that he would have been entitled to vote, and even if he was, old ER's are searched by address only |

Hi. Since my last post, the home where John Campbell resided has given me more details: |

Yes, it certainly looks that way, as i can't find any connection between them & Scotland. |

Can I just suggest that if John's father's name was Hugh there is quite a stong possibility that they were originally Irish Campbells rather that Scottish? |

After doing a bit of enquiry, i have since learnt that Lawrence was a bit of a 'rover' meaning he was a traveller, so i reckon he may of been out of the country when the 1901, 1911 censuses were done. |

Have you tracked the rest of the family? I can't seem to find Lawrence after the 1891 census. |

I contacted the home, but they have no records. I think i will go through all the john campbells on the 1901/1911 censuses, but i think maybe that Hugh was his orginal name, but changed it for reasons unknown. |

Thanks Diane but unfortunately, the address on marriage cert does not throw up anything useful on 1911.. |

The IGI used to have some Warwickshire records but I've had a look and can't seem to find them. |

Cherry Blossom. I wonder if looking on church registers would help. |

I did wonder whether Hugh/Hugh and John were the same person but then I found the John Campbell in the childrens home in 1901 born in Birmingham. |
