Sorry John, it's got me stumped. The only George that seems to fit from the age went on to marry Elizabeth Blackburn. |

I have the marriage cert and my dads birth cert and it has elizabeth whitfield formerly ricketts in 1916 when my dad was born.john |

I'm not saying it isn't the right marriage John. Just that in 1891 I can't find a likely George Whitfield that would be 20 in 1900, other than the one who appears to have married Elizabeth Blackburn. |

i could not find them on 1901 or 1911 census and there was a daughter born in 1911 called muriel. can iask you if ancestry is better than genes. |

Ahhhhhhh that's interesting Maureen. So the George I found in 1891 with mother Ann could be John's George after all. If it is he was living in Northumberland but born in Cumberland. It gives mother as single I'm afraid. I suppose she could have been divorsed or widowed though? |

i have that birth wrote down brampton volume 10b pge 473 i think i have to obsesed with northumberland so iwill go down that track but thanks for all your help i am going to do my dinner now thanks again |

That's the 1901 census we saw Maureen. That's why we though that George had married Elizabeth Blackburn. |
