If the Douglas Leuty who married Annie Cann is the right one, then a service record for his earlier service (1893-1911) is on Ancestry in the WW1 Pension Records. Usually when you find an earlier record like this, it is attached to their WW1 service record, but this is either not there or lost in Ancestry's indexing!!!!! This record is indexed as LENTY. |

You won't find any Army records on the National Archives website. All surviving Army records for those discharged up to 1913 are on the FindMyPast website. |

Reading through what has been posted whilst I was away searching, I think the service record I found on Ancestry, filed under Lenty is the right one. |

Douglas is listed as being home from 16th April 1911 and the census in 1911 was taken on 2nd April so Douglas was probably on a ship at the time on his way back from Ceylon!! |
