Possible 1841. I do think this is the same family I've posted on the 1851. I have no idea why they are all transcribed as coming from London though. |

Possible marriage for Thomas & Ann? |

Alviegal, yes the 1861 census is the correct Thomas living in Spivey Yard with his son. Later census and grandchildren bear this out. In the 1881 census (2 pages) Thomas 1842 is listed as head and Thomas 1804 is listed as father. Children John William, Joseph and Harry are there as well as wife Mary Ann. There is also a John William Norris who is a nephew. There was a son Thomas b. 1870 who does not appear in this household. I have not found Thomas 1804 in any census prior to 1861. |

Alviegal, interesting! Son Thomas 1842 is born the following year and he is the only child I have a record of. I'll see if I can find anything for another Thomas Norris in 1851. I suppose a member of the 1851 household might have just fancied those answers for the census taker! Either that or there were two families with very conventional taste in names. Thankyou again. I'm going to take a dinner break and think about all of this. |

Moody Blue, I think you've got it! I'll have to take a break now and work this all through. You are very helpfull. To think a couple of hours ago I was completely stuck and had been for days. Now I have a number of paths to follow. |

This is a possible marriage for daughter Elizabeth.....,,,.in .the year following Frank Holmes birth . Maybe his mother is Elizabeth which would make him a Grand nephew to Frances Warner....I think! |
