Hi Flick,
Yes ,i agree that this may be the only answer.
The other alternative would be an Atlas of parish registers which is advertised on the Genealogist which would hopefully cover the areas in question.
What do you think?
Regards.
Michael.

You have asked on countless occasions about these people, and have had negative results...when are you going to realise that no-one on GR has the info you want.

If you really wish to further your research.........it's down to you to visit the County Records Office, and spend some time looking for answers.

Hi Jax.
Not knowing where this Elizabeth was born in Essex i am much aware of how long it would be to locate the parish.
My posting of this request was on the hope that someone who lives and does research in the county may have come across some old records.
Regards.
Michael.

Hi Flick,
As i live in the West Country it would have to be a stopover visit of a few days at least!

Michael.

I knew I'd seen innumerable GROUT postings........deleting them is not an honest way of proceeding.

Michael..............

I suggest you find time to visit the Essex Records Office and do your OWN research there.

Help Clinic : Martin Grout[bap 1706 Thaxted]image 8 SEAX Essex.

Michael 24th Nov 2010

Hi there,
I am trying to find this ancestor of mine who i believe was the father of my known ancestor[also called Martin] who as per my tree on this site married an Elizabeth Scott in Great Bardfield Essex in 1763.
The name of a Martin Grout and an Elizabeth[name unknown] appears on SEAX[images 13,14 and 15]for baptisms in Little Bardfield between 1735 and 1751.Five children are listed during this time[but not a Martin].It was normal in those days,i believe to name the firstborn after their parents so i am sure[as no marriage record can be found for LB]that they were married elsewhere. Also when Elizabeth dies in the early 1750's no trace of a burial for that parish. This leads me to think that she was interred in her own parish[hopefully the marriage location].
He marries again to a Martha with three further children and they are all buried[between 1780 and 1798 in LB.
Therefore i am trying to find that parish and hopefully locate a Martin and an Elizabeth.
This is the one missing link to my tree and when found it takes my line back to 1578.
I am hoping that you can help in this dilemma.
Regards.
Michael.

Hi Michael
Still beavering away at the Grout lineage I see!
Correct me if I am wrong but haven't we looked for this before.
At the 'Help Clinic' we only have the same resources available as we have used previously to try and resolve this dilemma and I am afraid that the information is just not there. Perhaps at some point in the future when more records become available on-line you will find her. I sincerely hope you do so that you can tie together this line of your tree.
In the meantime I wish you good luck and happy hunting.

Michael 24th Nov 2010

Hi both of you,
As this was a new addition to this site,i thought i would give it a try.
Yes,this is still the missing piece of my jigsaw i am afraid.
Regards.
Michael.

I have copies of some of the gazillions of other threads Michael has posted on this subject, if anyone wants to check them out.

No, deleting old threads does not mean that this is the "only" post on the subject. Particularly when you persist in making no mention of all the hours of time that others (like: me) have spent on this wild goose chase already.

What it means is that you are inviting other helpful unwitting individuals to waste their time doing what has been done repeatedly already.

I just don't understand you. You know full well what is available on line. You know that the information you are looking for is NOT AVAILABLE.

You also know that you have quite a lot of information about the two individuals named in your post, and yet once again, you do not mention any of it in your opening post. You say you are looking for "any information" -- an open invitation for people to spend their time "finding" things that are not lost.

Truly appalling. Fair warning: next time you do this, I wll report the thread as a blatant, knowing violation of the site rules, and blatant, knowing abuse of other members' goodwill.

Hardly any Essex records are on line....you would almost certainly need to visit the County Records Office to get the info you seek

Can we assume that you have already checked ALL the familysearch sites?

And freebmd and censuses for the one born 1848?

Haven't you asked about this before?

Michael

Michael Report 16 Dec 2010 11:42

Hi there,
This will be my new[and only]post for trying to find information on my ancestors.
The two in question are as follows.
John Grout born 1784 died 1841 Great Easton Essex.
Edwin Grout born 1848 Great Dunmow Essex.
Regards.
Michael.
