I certainly didn't copy and paste it. Who knows? People with cats do strange things at times.

That's hilarious. I've never seen that particular glitch before!

I thought maybe you thought we'd ignored you, so you'd try again. ;)

Okay, that's my keyboard's ration of diet coke for the day.

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 16 Dec 2010 22:17

It's a glitch. Whilst I am known to repeat myself, I rarely use exactly the same words, and I think I went to bed early last night. So "Today" (which is usually about 3 a.m. for me in England) wouldn't apply. Sure it's a glitch.

JaneyCanuck Report 16 Dec 2010 01:18

Madmeg, is that a glitch, or did you say exactly the same thing as you said at the top of page 3? ;)

Polly is an alternative for Mary. Could Mary A Wilson - Adelaide's mother - have been known as Polly?

Rachel

Rachel Report 16 Dec 2010 00:31

Ha ha I like it! well hopefully you'll be able to gloat in a few weeks :)

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 15 Dec 2010 23:56

Absolutely - but we love to speculate. ;)

That way, when it turns out we're right, we can gloat!

Hi sorry if the Miller thing was wrong, I must've picked up on something wrong! I'm not 100% on how to use and read these sites so I guess that's why I'm asking for help!

I've sent off for the birth cert so hopefully after the xmas period I'll be able to put up the results, I think until I can get the name in concrete we can only speculate on the mother's side.

It wasn't my word, jax, I was taking Rachel's word!

Rose, if you look at the 1851 I edited to add above, with the one extra bit included, it does fit -- Broadstairs was the ecclesiastial parish name. You know: where you grew up was where you were born ...

Um, Rachel's post on page 2:
"Also on the John Wilson marriage front I also found that marriage on FreeBMD at Alverstoke - married to a Mary Ann Miller in December 1865. I think I'll have to get Adelaide's birth certificate to clarify."

I was in a rush (still should be) and hadn't gone into the marriage, just that there was one.

And yet my Mary Ann Miller matched so well! Just goes to show that coincidences are sometimes just coincidences. ;)
