I have received the death cert and I do believe it could be the elusive William. His widow was present at the death and going on her initials I think I have found his marriage which took place in Croydon Sep 1917, so I will have to send for the marriage cert which should give me the name of his Father.I wonder where he dissappeared to for 50 odd years, did he live abroad for yearsThank you all for your help if anything else should pop up on him please let me know.

OMG this is getting worse I presume that must be William the father so where does Eric Herrick fit in.

You wont get that death from FreeBMD as it has not been transcribed yet. I used Ancestry which has a complete database up to 2005
