I see looking at birthplaces that it's likely they missed the 1851 census, though wouldn't have helped much anyway.
Maybe waiting for the 1911 Scottish census might help? At least it might show location of Irish births a bit more clearly, which might be a clue as to where the marriage took place

Hi All,

I have now bought credit with Scotlands people to search for the above family that Brummiejan kindly found for me, but still struggling to find Michael Leddy born 1821 Ireland and Mary Leddy nee Kindler born 1823 also Ireland. Some of the children are recorded as being born in Ireland and some are recorded as born in midlothian Scotland, any help with this would be very much appreciated.

edit :- no i dont think there is a link with the earlier family.

Hi to all Who has helped me over the last few months, I have an update
regarding Matthew Leddy, i now have one of his marriage certificates:-

28.8.1865 Catholic Chapel Dundee

it has him Down as Matthew Laidy age 20, Father, Michael Leddy, labourer, (deceased) and Mother, Mary Leddy nee Kindler.

Margaret Robbins age 19, father H.... Robbins (unable to read his name)
labourer and mother Cathrine Robbins nee Flynn.

So i am now hoping someone might be able to help me find Michael and Mary, I think they were Irish but just maybe they also lived in Scotland/England. any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Yes the two you found are correct, the 3rd one showed up when looking for Matthew on familysearch.

Help, thoughts.idea's needed please to help sort out the Leddy Line of my family tree. The above information gives 2 family census 1881 and 1891 these are correct and they are the same family, but its with two different marriages, i have a marriage for Matthew Leddy to Margaret Robbins 28th August 1865 and a marriage for matthew Leddy to Margaret Robertson 5th of October 1874, also a birth on 5th october 1874 mother named as Margaret Robertson!
I have also found a further marriage for Matthew Leddy to Ann farley 1864. All these marriages and births took place in Angus dundee Scotland. I am very confused can this all be the same person! any advice or idea's would be appreciated.
I have also tried to find Matthew on the irish sites but have had no luck for him at all, he is recorded as born in Ireland c1845

The last two census are the same family they may have transcribed his mothers age wrong 58 is a bit old to have a 1 yr old.

By 1891 father may have died but you dont get to see the image on the scottish census so I dont know i'm affraid

Hi Jax, I have sent off for the marriage cert , it should be here first week Jan, looking at the last two family's are they the same ones just different addresses and no husband in the 1891 census, or is it just me!
