I am trying to find the wherabouts of Margaret nee Dalton born in Dublin circa 1922 or any relatives, her last known abode was Salford in 1953 where I believe she worked as a nurse, her parents were James and Margaret nee McCarthy,They lived in North Brunswick St in Dublin,Eire.Any help would be appreciated.I think I have tried everything to find my sisterinlaws birth mother and now I am at a loss, the irony is I married a Dalton. |

Hello Jean, |

I know she had a brother James, I think younger than her,I went to the records office in Dublin thats how I found her parents, and maybe she went back to Ireland after my sisterinlaws birth,I know she may have found this difficult as my sisterinlaw was about 9 months old. |

More than welcome. Sometimes if a child died the parents would name another child in it's memory. So if you believe that Evelyn had a younger brother named James, the James born around 1910 may have died young? |

Well, Jean, the fact that you maykeep posting more threads about the same thing could have something to do with it. The law of diminishing returns ... |

There's a Margaret Dalton marriage not long after in Salford (with a middle initial, however). Have you investigated that one? |

I have just found out that Margaret Mary Dalton worked as a bus conductress and later worked as an assistant nurse at Singleton nursing home, unfortunatly,it doesnt exist anymore. My sisterinlaw was adopted through the catholic society and we think was born at St Teresas mother and baby home. Her adoptive date was 2/6/1954.We worked out that her birth mother would have been around 30 years old at the time of the birth. |

Somewhere in the various records I was searching last night I did see something with Margaret Mary Dalton. It will be late today before I get a chance to do it again, but I'll try retracing. It was likely the same birth record you've seen, though. Meanwhile, do you have MMD Sr's exact date of birth? |

We haven,t got MMD Sr's exact dob,but as my sisterinlaw was born Feb 53 and her birth mother was 30 yrs old at the time,so it would be between Feb 1922 to Feb 1923, |

I'm not seeing it on a tree search, but it may take a bit to catch up. You've put Bernadette too? |
