Mothers maiden names are listed after 1911, so this might be a possible |

He would have been only just 15 if that is the right birth -was that legal? |

How did you get to this couple, and do you know if they are still alive and in this country in 1911? |

Until 1929 Marriage Act raised minimum age to 16, boys could marry at 14 and girls at 12. |

If Ada had died by 1901 William would have put "widower" as status not "married" -it looks more to me like the marriage broke down -but I havent been able to find Ada in 1901 |

Not what you asked for but may be useful. If you search trees (top of page) with these names and years of birth you might find other members connected with this family who may have more info. |

This death would seem to imply the birth in 1869 is the right one. His death cert may give a clue to any children? |

Can you tell us please Julie how you worked your way back to this couple in your tree? It may help us to find any children of the couple. |

To add another possibility -there is a marriage in 1911 Dec Q for a William J T Sheppard to either Elizabeth R Scott or Florence E Smith, so maybe there was a divorce or annulment from Ada but where is she in 1901 and where is he in 1911? |

In 1881 already posted Ada's age is given as 3 but the image clearly shows 3 months which is correct -in 1891 she is with her grandmother Maria Coles 63 Laundress b Oxford |
