Hi Lana Gene,
I have checked the electoral rolls on Ancestry and found the following:
1937 David John Rollston, Coton Vale, Prairie, Division of Kennedy, Subdivision of Hughenden.
Joining him from 1943 to 1954 (limit of the rolls), he is joined by Joyce Ann Bothwell Rollston, home duties at this same address.
Somewhere in the 6 years from 1937 to 1943 they have married. You would probably know the QLD BDM marriage limit is 1934.
Someone on Ancestry has this couple in their family tree. If I can find out a bit more, I will get back to you. It looks as though they did have a son, born in 1940. I will see what I can find out. I did check Hughenden Cemetery, but no Rollston members are buried there.
Cheers.

Hi Lana Gene,
This thread disappeared. I have not been able to reply before now. I forgot to mention in my reply of 12/11 that your David was a grazier. I have emailed the owner of the tree at Ancestry and when I hear anything I will get back to you. There is a question mark over some dates.
Cheers.

hi MEgirl just to let u know some rollstons are spelt like so Rolston, Rollston, Roleston,Roulston..... i believe there are a lot more variations makes it hard to find the right one!!!! and his birth date is unk but i assumed that his birth would vary only slightly from his wife Joyce Ann, then again he might have been a very old man when he married Joyce Ann bothwell morgan....but no death reg yet......then if he is still alive ..he would be over a hundred....which i doubt!......but we are getting there .i did manage to get in touch with English born, ken Rollston... as some nice lady left a message for me on gen forum... but i cant get back into the site to tell her....anyway Ken Rollston doesnt know and hasn't much on the Australian Rollston's........shame ....but did say he will get in touch when he finds something........ keep my fingers crossed..... lets hope MEgirl that a son pops up..that would be the best thing ever!! ..... ........thanks MEGIRL

Hey spiderlegs! :-) This might help...from NLA Trove
Townsville Daily Bulletin, Wednesday 16 February 1938 ROLLSTON MORGAN. State-wide interest is centred in the marriage of Miss Joyce Ann Bothwell Morgan, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs W. E. Morgan. Thomas Street Toowoomba, and Mr. David John Rollston, of Cotan Vale Station, Prairie, North Queensland, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy Rollston, of Cotan Vale, Prairie, N.Q., which was celebrated quietly at St. James' Church of England, Toowoomba, on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock.
Percy took 18 000 acres in 1912 in the Hughenden area. The family seemed to spend time holidaying in Leura, NSW
Percy's death: 1930/C2819 Percy Rollston [father] David [mother] Ellen Collins
His wife's death - a very unusual given name: 1925/C4517 Nano Lillian Rollston [father] John Justin McManus [mother] Hannah Josephine Moroney
Percy was a grazier. The executors of his will were Francis Rollston (his brother, see below) and Herbert Percival Poole (who had been a business partner). Cotan Vale was also called Cottonvale and Cotonvale. His estate was 10,489 pounds - a fair whack back in the 1930s depression! Probate was not granted until 1932. (Nano's estate was just over 9000 pounds, which is quite unusual for a married woman in 1926 - it appears this was the Ewen Plains property).
There is also an article indicatting that Nano died as a result of an accident at the stove (7 Nov 1925), where her clothes caught fire and she was severely burned. Oh here's her death notice - she died the following day, how awful: The Brisbane Courier, Saturday 14 November 1925 ROLLSTON-November 8th, Rollston, Nano Lilian, wife of Percy Rollston, Ewen Plains, Prairie, Queensland
-
Townsville Daily Bulletin, Friday 5 March 1943 In Brisbane this week by the death of the late Frank Rollston, aged 63. He was a native of Charters Towers and a son of the late David Rollston. When a young man he tried his luck on the Western Australian fields for several years, later returning to Charters Towers. Associated with his brother, the late Percy Rollaton, he conducted Ewen Plains sheep station, in the Prairie district, the brothers disposing of their property to the present owner, Mr. Harrington, in 1926, the late Mr. Percy Rollston becoming the partner of the late Mr. Herbert Poole jnr, in the ownership of Cotonvale Station, near Prairie. For a period before he retired and left Charters Towers to reside In Brisbane, tha late Mr. Rollston was owner, with Mr. Ernest Nicholson, of the firm of Messrs A. B. Bright and Co, Mr. H. P. Poole purchasing his interest. For a period the late Mr. Rollston served the city as an Alderman of the City Council. Son, Robert, is serving with the fighting forces, while a daughter, Miss Ellen Rollston, and his widow reside in Brisbane.
