Hi everyone. I have previously asked for help in looking for my grandfather. I now have his birth and death certs. I was always in the belief that his name was William Patrick Joseph McNally D.O.B. 17-2-1908in Ashton under Lyne. I now know his birth name was William Joseph Nalley. On the birth cert his father is Patrick Joseph Nalley and his mother is Ellen Nalley formerly Morrissey. Could someone kindly do a 1911 census search for me as i am trying to find out their D.O.B. |

Can't find a marriage in England or Wales for those ^^^^. Perhaps they never actually married and Ellen assumed the Nalley name. |

well solely on the info there that ellen is a widow and there is already a son (willie) born in 1908 which would coincide with my grandfather |

They're telling lies. They did so back then, on birth's as well as marriages. For example I know my Great-Grandmother was born illegitimately yet she gives herself a father at time of marriage, she had a rather unique surname. Another relative combines his step-father's first name with his own surname to give himself a father, he was also born illegitimate. |
