Thank you- and I do apologise if this gave you the wrong impression. I am just so excited at having had all the suppoprt in discovering more information about my family history. Don't worry about sounding cross- you had every reason and I am sorry if people do take advantage of situations such as this. However; I like to think I am credited with more integrity. Please know; you have helped me to feel very happy and hopefully if Alice's death is the right one- I will also make my mother happy in the knowledge of what happened to her beloved Granny. |

Searching 1861 census for Alice Meredith born 1855+/-2yrs gives just one result - in Droxford! |

You are quite right to ask me that; as your information came in I changed it on my tree. Please don't think I was already aware of that! |

Many, many thanks to you. I really do agree that the death in Portsmouth is the most likely.I will certainly try a search with other trees on the site and see if I can get any further information. I will try and come back to you as soon as I find out; but I really appreciate your support. Trudi |

apologies, I did add a post but it has not appeared. I am very new to all this. Mum last lived with Granny Clapson in the 1920's but cannot remember the last time she saw her. She cannot recall a man living with Granny Clapson- but as Mum is now 90- this may have slipped from her memory. |
