Hi, I am trying to find information on Gordon Price born in 1927/1928 in Stoke on Trent and he was in the North Staffs regiment Army. His father was Thomas William Price. |

There only seems one birth registration that might be him based upon the information that you have given: |

Hi, thanks for replying/looking into that for me that's really good of you. I've looked on various sites and have managed to find 2 - one born in 1927 and one born in 1928, both with different mothers. What's the best way for me to find out which is the correct one ? |

Hi yeah, that's the site that I looked at, but there is another one born Newcastle Under Lyme which is same sort of area. |

Note the mothers name of both births and then use the site to look for a marriage of a Thomas W Price to a lady whose surname was the same as the maiden name shown on the birth record. |

I have tried that and drawn a blank. Unfortunately, I cant afford to subscribe to loads of sites, just wondering if there is a way of doing it without having to subscribe. |

Hi, it was definately Thomas William Price. The other name is Bebbington. I can find a marriage to an Elizabeth Bebbington in Northwich Dec 1907 but one is 8a 498 and the other is 8a 493 - should they not be the same? |

Really, so those two are linked then. Mind you I have been thinking about that - if Gordon Price was born in 1927 and they were married in 1907, that's 20 years - doubtful same ones do you think ? |

If he was born in Cobridge then it could be the Bloor birth. There's no middle initial on the marriage. |

Thanks Rose. Neither Gordon or Muriel had middle initials. I think Bloor birth was registered Jan/Feb/Mar 1928 and there is a Bebbington registered in Jan/Feb/Mar 1927, just need to try and find out for definate which one it is. |

I take it that you got Gordon's 'father's' name from the marriage cert? |
