Hi Cathy
I have received a telephone call from NZ this morning from Katryn the granddaughter of May she lives NZ.She was saying that her grandmother was May Graham Smith b 1915 Larbert in Stirlingshire. Scotland she married Matthias Hughes May 1936 and that her mother Patsy b 1938 Torwood Larbert, Stirlingshire it seem that the father of Patsy on her birth certificate was a Adam Armstrong commercial sale man. Patsy Armstrong was the name she was known as was flown out to South Africa with a old Aunt Gillian Anderson.

I did find Patricia 1938 born in Stirling (I think) but thats it.
William does not appear to have been born there, not in 1942 anyway.

Edit.
I dont have access to passenger Flights, dont know anyone who has either, unless they are at the National Archives.

Yes I've found her birth and marriage details now Ian and they were married in St Ninians / Stirling by the way.

Its great to see that Cathy and FBG have taken up the reins. Thank you both. FBG suggestion that May joined up for WW2 could be a possibility, but without knowing for sure, I can't see how Ian can request and pay £30 for service records without other details.

I was a-wondering..............we can search addresses on English ER at a library. Is it possible to do the same in Scotland? Would it be worth looking to see who was registered at the address given as May's destination in 1960? And perhaps check the following 2 years to see if May was registered...and track her for successive years at that address until she disappears again?

She may of course still be alive aged 95.

Or re-married or died after 2006?

Yep.

But I cant find a remarriage for her,but I didnt search under Smith when I was searching as that surname has only just been given.

Gotta make my chutney now..
