I now have the marriage cert for John Ashfield Patterson and Adeline Isabella Miller married April 1877 at Register Office in the district of Kingston in the County of Surrey

John Ashfield Patterson 24 bachelor Gardener living at Somerset Road, Wimbledon..Father also a Gardener (William)

Adeline Isabella Miller 27 Spinster living at Church street, Wimbledon - domestic servant

If she used Isabel in 1911 then maybe thats what we should be looking for.

I tend to trust 1911 info more because it is written in their own hand.

Mary - she has used Isabel on the 1881, 1891, 1901 and 1911 census records. It only seems to be her marriage that has Adeline Isabel.

that looks like it i would say considering the marriages posted for 1848 which included lettitia Lewis.

I was thinking with the name lettitia the that would be the likely one,as Adeline is quite a fancy name as well if you get my drift.

I'm having trouble finding a birth for Adeline?
The only ones I can find for someone called Adeline Isabella at the correct time are these:-

The district Ross spans the boundaries of the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Hereford and Worcester

It would be interesting to get that marriage certificate!

Now we're left with the problem -if it's her, was she born a Lewis or a Miller? And when?

There was this marriage Letitia Miller to James Skuse in Bristol 1860
On 1861 census says Letitia born St Swinnels!! Pembrokeshire.

James was married before and his children are with them on 1861 bit no Adeline /Isabella.

Letitia Skuse died in Avon Bristol Dec 1869.James Skuse 1814-1866.

So if you have Adelines marriage certificate does it say her dad Robert deceased?
