I have finally located Alfred Gooch born 2nd May 1893 - well I am pretty
sure its him! The jigsaw pcs are staring to fit the puzzle.
On the 1911 census he is showing as on a vessel "Success"its a Thames
barge (Stumpy)40 tons -his skipper/master is Thomas J.Ambrose from
Grays Essex.The vessel was owned by the Cement works- Thomas Bevan
Northfleet near Gravesend Kent - the site is now owned by the Blue circle
cement.What I am now trying to find out what happened to Alfred afer this

25th dec 1927 Alfred was on board -offical number 145903 was that him?

The intended place of address for Alfred in UK says, 55 (35?) John Williamson St. South Shields, Durham. Sailor, but not sure where you are seeing that number?...

Chris - Alfred Gooch is my Fathers brother his sister was Annie Gooch
my Father being Herbert Edward Gooch who came out to NZ to live.
Alfreds Father married Caroline Dight - his name also being Alfred with
no second name - my name being Margery Gooch (now Crivello)hopefully
I can sus out any children from Alfred and Marions marriage - or other
there deaths.

Thanks Chris - yes thats the right Marian Gooch have the death cert now
and Alfreds I am waiting for it to arrive.
The only missing link now is to find any Gooch children they may have
had - I may be able to track any children down through the Burns family
which I am working on now.
