I'm beginning to wonder whether the Hubbard in the names of John and Florence is indicative of an extra-marital relationship.........................

The image records 3 children born...........3 living. Crossed through, of course, as the info should be against the wife's name..........

Not wishing to cast aspersions on your husband's ancestors, but it seems odd that Edward is living apart from Florence Maud, with no sign of John, and no reference to any births other than those of the children who were with him in earlier years

Well you might be right there as it is said that Florence has been married three times. I don't know in which order they go but it could be that she married a Brown, then a Hubbard and finally a Warrener but how true this is I don't know. i also know that Florence maud Brown/Hubbard/Warrener worked at Bayerns Manor, in Tealby as a housekeeper.

She couldn't have re-married until after Edward died..............

She was certainly married to him - as to whether she married anyone else, it will require some diligent searching.

Any idea when/where she died? And her surname at the time................

If Edward died in the area in which he'd been living....these are possibilities......allowing for slight age discrepancies

On balance, though, I would think that, of these, 1935 is much the most likely

Sorry I don't know when or where she died. All i know is that my father-in-law used to refer to her as granny Brown.
Last know living in Tealby, Lincolnshire.
I have John Hubbard Brown birth and marriage certificate. On his birth certificate it gives his dad as Edward Brown, but on his marriage certificate it gives his dad as John Hubbard (deceased).

Edward Brown so i have been told was either pushed or fell down some stairs.

I don't for one moment think that Edward Brown was the father of the two children with Hubbard in their names.

The likelihood that Florence re-married is also very doubtful.

I rather fear you will never know for certain who fathered her two illegitimate children, which is what they almost certainly were.

Otherwise, she - and they - would have been living with Edward in 1911

So, it's been a lengthy search, which seems only to have come up with 'negative' info.
