Yeah sorry Lynn..it was late last night and i was a bit tired, so not thinking straight, I was thinking you were looking for her to become a Russell before her marriage.

You have found that she definetly married Robert Russell and not Sarah Kennedy?

Iv`e had a look on the census for 1891 and can`t find either Robert or the other groom John welsh,......... people with those names, but as we know nothing about them except a name its hard to pinpoint the correct person.

thanks so much for the info but i,m a bit confused how do you asssume that this rules out mary richardson as mary russell i found she had married a robert russell in 1884 and then i assumed she went on to live with jonathan reaper living as if they were married

Got them in 1871...mis transcribed as Richards..

I presume this now rules out Mary Richardson as a possible Mary Russell??

so that counts john welsh out think i might have found her but there is no way of proving it although i have messaged 2 people on the genes site who have her on their tree

Hi vera i might have found her but the marriage i found only said she was married to a robert russell or a john welsh so i,m really clutching at straws lol could you please check the 1891 census for mary welsh b in wingate husband john and then i can either rule this out or try to investigate further Its a bugger that my subs have ran out lol

hi i,m now working on the theory that mary reaper formerly russell was married before iv,e found a marriage for a mary richardson b 1865 in wingate she married a robert russell in 1884 in south shields can any one check to see if they are on the 1891 census still togather with mary being born in wingate then i can either rule it out of look further thanks

yes i think they are two different people iv,e got all the people from durham records on my tree how i have to work out who jonathan was with i think it was mary russell born about 1864 in chapel chair wingate but without a marriage its difficult to find her family i,ll keep plodding on thanks again for all your help
