This man was born Feb 22nd.
Name: Henry C Harding Death Registration Month/Year: 1946<<(March quarter Age at death (estimated): 64 Registration district: Islington Inferred County: Greater London Volume: 1b Page: 233
Sparky friends grandad who never married his nan,but they lived in sin for years til his death.
This is Sparkys mother, born in 1929,but not registered til 1959 !
Name: Barbara R Harding Mother's Maiden Surname: Harding Date of Registration: Jul Aug Sep 1959 Registration district: Pancras Registration county: Greater London, Middlesex Volume Number: 5d Page Number: 552
And sister
Name: Ruby E Harding Mother's Maiden Surname: Harding Date of Registration: Jul Aug Sep 1959 Registration district: Pancras Registration county: Greater London, Middlesex Volume Number: 5d Page Number: 552
Births Mar 1926 Harding Ruby E Harding Pancras 5d See S'59
Name: Barbara R Harding Mother's Maiden Surname: Harding Date of Registration: Jan Feb Mar 1929 Registration district: Pancras Volume Number: 5d Page Number: S'59
This is Nora on 1911 HUNT, Fredrick Head Married 22 years M 58 1853 Chair Turner Radnage Bucks HUNT, Ellen Wife Married F 58 1853 North End Bucks HUNT, Nora Daughter F 14 1897 Stokenchurch Bucks
Registration District: Wycombe Sub District: Stokenchurch Enumeration District: 5 Parish: Stokenchurch
Address: Church Street Stokenchurch County: Buckinghamshire
Nora had 2 boys (father unknown) before having Ruby and Barbara, and was made to leave the family home after the 2nd,and she then had the boys "adopted" out(names not known to me) and only uncovered about them after Nora was dead. It is believed that she may have met Henry anytime between 1916 and 1928 ! She ended up in Pancras area of London, thats all I know.
Anything is possible with this family. One of them must surely have been married elsewhere I say ,or why not get married..? Sparky tells me so much in the trying to find his grandads birth that I get lost,so if this looks like waffle, sorry.
She used the name Harding as her maiden name to reg the girls as Henry was dead and she wanted them registered as Harding and not Hunt. Thats what he tells me. He is searching for all his documents again now,but they have been tidied away by partner when he was in hosp, and cant be found. He is hopping mad at her so I shant bother him again about them for a while..

No I hadnt looked at anything other than the one you found on 1880 census Renes,I was too tired and Jaded from the day before.Takes longer to recover when you are not a teenager anymore.
The marriage is a good possibility although I will have to point out that on the census of 1880 that you found it says John Godfrey was born in NY and his parents were born in Ireland. It also says Mary was born in NY also and her Father born Canada and her mother in NY. But I am certainly not dismissing it.

1901 brought to fore for ref.
GODFREY, Francis Head Married M 29 1872 Carman Paper Trade New York F S GODFREY, Lily Wife Married F 21 1880 Aldershot Hampshire GODFREY, Lily Daughter Single F 0 (11 MOS) 1901 Westminster London Registration District: St George Hanover Square Sub District: St Margaret and St John Enumeration District: 31 Ecclesiastical Parish: St Andrew Civil Parish: St Margaret and St John Municipal Borough: Address: 3, Willow Street, St Margaret And St John County: London
Marriage cert in 1899 says Francis is a Potman/Barman and his father is ...John Godfrey ..Coachman.(deceased)
I have him on 1911,still born New York but transcribed age incorrectly as on the image he is def 10 yrs younger that they have transcribed him as born 1862,Lily (snr)has died and 2 of the children are missing ,Evan knows where on 1911, as I nor many others can find the one I have for sure who was my starting point as she was Sparky friends Gran.. I would like to see Francis on any earlier census and please dont go into Lily Godfrey ,she is a nightmare and was not a Greenleaf as she has on the marriage cert but was "adopted".
On the daughters birth cert it has Francis Godfrey..Newpaper packer. But on her marriage she has Daniel Godfrey..printer....just to confuse things. And yes I am CERTAIN that I have the correct marriage for Gladys Priscilla and her birth.. Maybe she was not brought up by her father and thought his name was Daniel, although one of the witnesses on her marriage was from her mothers side and I would have thought may have known? But maybe did not want to correct her...
