George and Elizabeth were my great great grandparents. Their daughter, Winifred, died aged 14 and i visited the large gravestone with all of their names inscribed, and have a photograph if you are interested.

Well, it certainly is a small world isn't it! This family is certainly keeping you on your toes with all their goings on. It's a shame we can't get more 'in-depth' information about their everyday lives, just what's on bits of paper. Still, they're certainly not a boring lot! Thanks for letting me know.

*** alviegal *** ..........just to let you know what a small world it is - read-on !
Francis Robbins ( born 1870 ) who emigrated to Canada with - & then married - Jane Ward ( born 1872 ) , well it turns out that Jane was the older sister of Priscilla " Kate " Ward ( born 1884 ) - who married Francis' younger brother Christopher Robbins ( born 1876 ) - the couple from my earlier post !
I found Jane with the same parents as Kate's ( on 1881 census )...a small world indeed !

It makes perfect sense but looks like you need the BC to find out who his father is.

Thankyou Catherine for finding Francis in Canada ! ( & thanks *** alviegal *** for the Canadian census ).
This is a bit confusing , but i think that my cousins' grandfather Francis Robbins Smith ( born Wolston 1896 ) was possibly Gertrude's son born before her marriage ? ( although it seems that she did not marry Thomas Smith either ). Possibly his Robbins grandparents ( Gertrude's parents ) raised him...i hope all of this makes sense !

Tootyfruity, 1911 and marriage for Francis are not the correct ones. As you can see in my posting as 21:51 the father of that Francis was also called Francis.

Thankyou all for your help , it is very much appreciated. *** alviegal *** i think that you may have found Gertrude.
This is a very complicated family & i am trying to unravel their " mysteries " for my cousin , whose father died afew weeks ago aged 85.
His grandfather is believed to have had a younger brother called Christopher , but i have found no evidence to support this until your 1911 post for Gertrude ( grandfather Francis is with his grandparents in 1901 & 1911 census' for some reason - George + Elizabeth Robbins ).
Can i please ask if it says how many children Gertrude + Thomas have & if any have died...thanks again !
