Thankyou Margaret for the help.
Gwynn, Thankyou very much i knew his middle name however had no idea it was a link to his father my great autie told me the story a few days ago. I know mary is tied into them is there a chance mary could be her middle name? Would you know if it was Ann who owned The Stag Inn in Lake or is that further down the family?
I knew there year of marrage as i have seen some records of there marrage although i do not have as copy myself.

Isaac's full name was Isaac John Long White, the John Long being his father's name.
Isaac's headstone shows Isaac J. L. White.
His death certificate gives his full name. He died of acute bronchitis on 15th January 1924 at his home in Stag Road, Lake.

Isaac's mother's name was just Ann White, not Mary Ann White - she was the eldest daughter of William White and Hannah Phillips and was born in 1829. She died in 1890. Her headstone simply says "Ann White of Lake".
Legal documents relating to the leasing of a public house also show her name to be Ann.

Ann married Thomas White in 1859. Thomas was the son of James White of Branston Common and was apprenticed for 7 years to James Nobbs, carpenter and wheelwright, in 1833 at the age of 14. He died in 1868.

Isaac John Long White 1846
Information given in new thread:
Son of Mary Ann White i am wondering about his father as He is given Mary's maiden name and although Mary later went on to Marry Thomas White it is known that he is not the father. The story through the family was that Isacc was the illigitament child of a married man whom Mary had an affair with.
Thomas and Mary Married in 1859 when Isacc was 13 this has come to light however others members of the family believed Isaac was their child. i wondered if anyone else had some information for me?

Hi Patricia,
I am currently away therefore have had little time to be on here everyone's messages have been helpful the dates of the children are from a distant family member who helped me get started. I am on the isle of wight at the moment therefore am hoping to learn more and have been requiring some photographs and documents from family so i am aware of which documents i need. I am rather certain they didnt not marry anywhere but the isle of wight.
Thomas and Mary ann's marrage is registered as Thomas and Ann in 1859 i believe as she is on some census under both Mary and Ann.
Hope that makes more sense

Mamie,
Is what we have put accurate, and is it what you already know?
Where did the dates of the children come from?
Is this claimed marriage of Mary ann White (1824-1890) and Thomas White (c1822- 1868) the one at Basingstoke, or did Michael find the correct? (because they cannot both be right)
You have put 'if more information is needed just ask'- we are.
Thanks

I can find Harriet (born Brading, living at Carisbroke) in a workhouse in 1851, and as a servant in 1861, but not definite in 1841, birth 1833 and 1834.
