Must say the one prog I watched of Heir Hunters the bloke didnt think that the LEGALLY adopted children of the deceased womans sister were entitled as they were not blood and went looking for other rellies.

Another company beat him to it.
He had kept saying that he wondered why no one else had been looking for the other rellies.

If he was such a pro how could he not know that Legally adopted children ARE entitled?

Never watched another as I just sat through that one picking holes the whole time.

Bit like with WDYTYA when I watch that all I do is wind up HID by saying,

Oooo look,he went straight to the thing he was searching for !Amazing how he never had to spend hours doing it and even more amazing he hasnt had to wait for the postie to come with certs.

Not that I have ever seen any of the people order a cert anyway.

Being an ex landlady myself find it strange they can just take over without going to court to get a licence...maybe they have changed the rules?

I know one of the helpers for one of the WDYTYA shows.

She said the show ordered every single cert with the right forename/surname of the people in the tree (having done a basic tree), they then pick the most exciting route and then film the consequences putting all the right certs back into envelopes, lining up ancestors with appropriate stories and photo's etc. She was working on the tree for 4 months before they came along and picked the route they wanted to do for filming, by then the fireworks have gone off and the only person who doesn't know about their tree is the Z list star they are filing!

It's a TV show afterall, and it's informative in respect of who did what and when, the military for example, or the pattern of salve trade movements or why and when people migrated.... the £10 poms comes to mind.

....but as far as you seeing it as it happens it's just not like that! It takes over a year to make just 6 of them shows.

Nope they've not changed the rules, you would need to have a personal licence and apply to be the DPS of a premesis, but as long as there are no police objections it only takes a week.

Unless the previous DPS allows you to use their licence. I have had this issue before with TV shows and pubs, Hollyoaks comes to mind.....

I was also a licensee of a Toby carvery once and did'nt know about it for a year because I was barred from the place until the managers left. I went back in there to see my name on the wall (joint of course)

They must have applied in my name as I had been a licence holder before did'nt go to court or sign anything

so they then checked Gillette/ Palmer births looking for boys obviously - found 2 - looked in telephone directory found 1 - and called around his house

Add - that's how they did know about divorce - never even bothered to look - asked my brother for my whereabouts - they could never do what you all do - actually searching and tracking down

Jax - any things possible sweetie - sure must be possible to get a front person - you a have contacts here all over country to "run" for you - I think it is public knowledge the intestate wills - also with the original posting is there not a statute barred time when money goes to state - that comment they made about 7 years seemed telling to me - some companies just work on the one about to revert to state - know what you mean about son - I realised too late in My first p ost - sorry - well done - second husband and I have " adopted " daughter too

OH has taken daughter & Co out to the university to go on the Treetop Walk

I refuse to go on that!! After freezing on one in West Australia, never again .... not even if it were only 10' off the ground!
