Gins .......... is TPS a service for banning cold calls??


If so, the Federal Government brought in a similar system here about 4 years ago.

I dallied for so long about signing up with it, that bad reports were being published ......... ie, about 4 months after it started

So I never did sign up, and therefore get cold calls. Usually jsut say No Thanks and hang up as soon as I realise.


A report was issued earlier this year that said that the "new" program had done nothing to even reduce the number of cold calls to people who signed up. In fact, many of them got MORE calls than before.


Summat wrong there I think!

EDIT : No, strike that, found the other marriage in 1850.
There's no entry for a 1851 marriage in Liverpool for Wm Agnew on Lancsbmd.
Perhaps he was entered on freebmd in 1851 by mistake

I believe I did that several years ago Ginny but it has made no difference!!

Sylv...yes it works quite well here and we also have the CTPS (Corporate) which stops cold calls at work

Dea, you might have to register again, I know at work we have to register every 12 months

Ja..x dont you have caller display? You can also use call bar on lots of phones, or BT will do it for you

Hmmm...I have a friend who is a p##s head and she phones in the evening

I dont answer either, the boys answer and they know if it's her....Im NOT in!

Come to think....I have a few friends like that ;)

Im with virgin at the moment but I think I can change in a month or so when this contract is up.

Mum and dad have got talk talk with caller display so may try that

I feel bad about ignoring her but I think she may have problems that I really dont want to have to deal with now
