According to the census he was born in Ligionel abt 1883, that James Townley was born 1878 and McConnell not coming up as his mother maiden name |

Going from where James jr was born Ligionel, there a marriage for a James Armstrong to a Eliza Martin 21st April 1883 in Ballysillan Presbyterian Church |

Thank you for you help so far, been great. I am hoping to trace my grandfathers service records he was in army royal irish field horse army 1919 and also 11/11/1939 but cant find robert james record on ancestry please help me trace this or his reg no. also my greatgrandfather james armstrong was in the battle of somme royal irish fus or field artilliery but cant trace his reg service either would be great for any help. They lived in belfast shankill weir street. xx |

Sharonrose....Are you sure that Robert was was in the Army 1919..if it is the same family 18 Weir St. then Robert was only 6 years in 1911..which would make him approx.14 yrs in 1919..??? |

James married elizabeth kennedy nee addis but Im trying to trace his mother who died in 1901/2 but his dad james armstrong married sarah mcbarron in 1904/5 They were in army but I cant find there records and fought in somme but only James mother Elizabeth was buried in the city cemetry along with her grand-daughter in law rachel armstrong and grandson robert armstrong but dont know were he is buried and family hoping to find his grave no. in france |

Elizabeth Addis married James Armstrong belfast but she died march 1920 but cant find where james was buried believed he may of ied in somme but still cant find grave or any details of james since 1911 census wier st can anyone help in this direction please |

Elizabeth Armstrong died 10.3.1937 buried in belfast cemetry other son Thomas was in ww2 and roberrt but cant find records and their dad james worked in shipyard as cemeter in 1911 but cant find his death he was 28 yrs old but i know by 1937 elizabeth was a widow so he died between thise years but not to sure he went ww1 and kia. I just can not find any of these records at all please helllllp me to get to the next generations thank you |

Robert Armstrong served in ww2 joined about 11.1939 he became a disabled stolker i am trying to locate his service records on ancestry but need service nmber. I cant find him there. I think he lived at louisa street belfast by this war time. I would like any help you can give for me to beable to locate as there are lots of robert armstrongs please |
