Root if that is his death then he was born in 1822/23. By looking at the census he was about the same age as Elizabeths father!! Does seem strange.................................... |

This looks like John the Thatcher in 1861 (looks like his father also John and a Thatcher is living with him) There is a James Pike, aged 45 years and also a Thatcher living right next door - so perhaps a brother? |

I can't see a son named John for that John that died in 1870. His widow continued to live close by the James Pike (Thatcher and by 1881 Thatcher and Market Gardener). James had a son John but he seems tp have remained unmmarried as he is with his parents in 1881. |

sorry forgot to let you know on John's marriage certificate his age is stated as full |
