Yes he remarried

Spruce

That does not mean they divorced. Alot of people commited bigamy back then.

Can you be certain she did not die or he did not commit bigamy?

She was still alive as she had more children and registered them in his name but they were not his.

Spruce,

I go back to the same point. Just because he told her he was divorced it doesn't mean he was. Divorce back then was very difficult, i'm not saying they def didn't, but it's a good chance they didn't.

Have you tried to apply for the divorce paperwork? I have searched the TNA for a divorce and nothing came up (there are loads missing)

It might be worth contacting these people.

How do you apply for a search?
You will need to complete form D440 and send it to:

Oh my gord, Tracey, I just sw that other Richard Barnard death. He was living in Westbury on Severn in 1881, so he must have died in Westbury, New York, in 1890.

Boggles the mind, it does!

I've PMed the one person I see there who still has my Richard as being that other one and asked her to stop. I just hate it when people related by seven marriages ** with my ancestors. The ones who had my grx4 grfather in Cornwall in the 1700s -- the parish clerk no less -- having a son in Tennessee did agree to cease and desist their claim on him when I pointed out the nonsense of it ...

I will send for the form and complete it, i know where Charles was it's Doreen i'am trying to find i have her in different places after they split up until around 1936. But i cannot find a remarriage or any death for her. Thankyou Rose

It amazes me why people do that!

I was working on a tree recently and they had people dying in Kenilworth, New Jersey instead of Warwickshire!

I think alot is Ancestry giving them suggestions and they just click them without looking.... it's madness.

I have my main tree open, but then as the branches grow i have split them off and copied the data across and done a more precise tree. These tree's are locked, and have all the accurate data on them rather than best guesses.

I still see poeple's tree's whom have copied my early data and still have it as fact. I just leave them, if they cannot be bothered to check for accuracy i cannot be bothered to tell them!

One would think you'd go over your tree at least once a year and see what additional data had come to light or been adjusted!

Have you also seen our friend Christine has changed names to abbey and is being extremely polite? It appears her caps lock has been fixed too....

The divorce may well give you a last address for Doreen, this will help you out a little.

You can search for a 10 year period.

Just be prepared for the fact you might open a can labelled worms!

spruce -- I don't suppose it's been possible to identify Doreen Williams's birth?

If you had her exact date of birth, and if she died after 1970ish, you could search deaths by her given name(s) and DOB and see whether there were any results worth investigating.

Thankyou Rose

janey i have her date of birth, but i don't know what name she died under. Thankyou Rose

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 17 Jun 2010 00:56

Spruce

What Janey is trying to say is, we can search for her just using her DoB and her first name, as long as the person registering her death knew her correct DoB.

After about 1970 the DoB is listed instead of a simple age.

Care to share it so we can look?

Spruce

If you can find the exact date of her birth we might be able to find an appropriate death for her just using that and her first name.

We are trying to help you find her....!
