Found another possible marriage

Have just done a repeat search of the Stansted Mountfitchet images from 1638 - end of the records, and no marriages, other baptisms or burials.
There are records for vagabonds, strangers, and travellers, and as no mention of these are in Margaret's record, I would have to presume that her parents lived in the parish. But they were not married there, or stayed there long enough to have more children there or be buried there. Because there is no record of Margaret's burial within a few years, it is possible she survived, or, the family moved soon after her birth.
I did find an interesting marriage that may be of some connection.
Samuel Fish(er) and Mary Pledg(ea)r, married 25/3/1654. William Fish(er) a witness.
John fish married Ellen Bowtell (1660), daughter of Elizabeth Pledgar (1633).
There are no other Pledgar entries that I could see for the same time period.
Coincidence? Connection?

Any information about Mary would help out a lot (as I have plenty of Pledgar information to work with). Anything on Samuel would be a bonus.

Just found a Mary Pledgar, born 1629/30....Parents Abraham and Mary..a sister to Elizabeth!!!!!!!!!!!

Nudging this up for help finding information regarding Margaret Fish. I have looked at surrounding parish records, but to no avail. From what I can find online, no record of her nor her family. I see SEAX is now pay to view, so that eliminates that once wonderful site!

I have had a rethink of something that was said about my grandmother, that she had French ancestors. I thought that when I found the Du Lieu link, that was it, but I'm starting to think that there may be another French connection.
I don't have anything else to base my query on, just knowing she had French ancestors, and the fact John Fish doesn't appear to have been recorded as born in England. How can I find any connection? I was thinking perhaps the obvious would be his French name was Jean Poisson, changed to the English John Fish. Jean itself could have been interpreted as John. Or perhaps there is another French surname sounding like Fish. I have had a look and there is indeed a lot of Jean Poissons from the 17th century.
I believe John was born between 1640 and 1660, and spent his life in the Essex area.
And genius' out there who can suggest or detect a possible way to find or eliminate my idea?
