There is about 10miles as the crow flies between Ashbrittle and Timberscombe. Cutcombe is next to Timbercombe so its all very possible Thank you for helping me . |

There is a baptism for a William Sedgbeer in 1770 in Ashbrittle, Somerset. I couldn't say for sure whether this was your man or not - you would need to check how close Ashbrittle is to Timberscombe/Cutcombe.... |

The County Records Office is a building where one goes to carry out research - it is not a website. I believe the Somerset one is located in Taunton - but you can easily find out by googling |

I can only suggest that you try the IGI - if nothing there, you would need the County Records Office |

Thank you for having another look, I concluded that Sarah was illigitmate as she had her mothers name.I know you found Ann's parents but could we get any further back on the sedgebeer side? |

I know relationships aren't mentioned in 1841, but, with 3 children in the household whose births were after the 1834 marriage, one would have to make certain assumptions about the relationship between Richard and Ann. |

Or, is Sarah the child of Robert and Ann and possibly living with her Aunt Ann Sedgebeer/Bowden??? |
|||
|
Flick | Report | 21 May 2010 13:33 |
The 1834 marriage record MAY say what Ann's status was..........if she was a spinster, you would have assume (hope, even) that Sarah was her only child before she married, which would also mean that you wouldn't find out who Sarah's father was |
