Please be aware that the records shown from the IGI may be the only information available on the originals at Scotlandspeople. Statutory registration began in 1855 in Scotland. Prior to that events were recorded in the OPRs. The detail recorded varied from parish to parish and often marriage entries give no further information. Sometimes they will give the names of the fathers of the bride and groom. |

thanks everyone, thats great. i am still pottering at times trying to find info on the trip to Aust. Hopefully somthing will turn up and I won't get too frustrated. Hope I am not driving everyone too nuts, but I am learning heaps when everyone is telling me of sources that I use for others |
