Ann and everyone, I really appreciate the help you have been giving me. I know it is a difficult name to research, but, I am told never give up. I have been trying for 7yrs on this one all ready. mmmmm, maybe I need a visit to Wrexham??? Have been over to UK 2008 and 09 but was not able to make it to Wrexham..........next time.
I will see about trying to see what I can find on FMP even if I have to buy some credits to have a look.
Again, Thanks to everyone who has helped .
Best wishes.

hi Barbara
If you can find someone with access to find my past there are 3 Edward Evans in Wrexham and one in 1854 and one in 1853 which would be interesting to look at as different sites find different things on the census. These are on the 1861 census
If any of those have Thomas as the father we could look into this farther and see if we can solve your mystery

Walter b4q 1916 w. Derby Lancs George 3Q 1918 " Dorothy 4Q 1919 " David 1Q 1926 Liverpool Kenneth 1928 Liverpool

Ann, Appreciate the time you have put into looking up this evasive family of mine. Agree that the first family is probably not them. However, there are twins in the family and have continued down the line, my grandmother, till the present time with my two lots of cousins having twins. Edward and Ellen also had twin girls Ellen and Sarah Esther but they died in 1901, within 3 days of each other. Have death certs for them.
I recall my mum telling me as a child that there were miners in the family. I did find on the Carpenter side of the family Miners from Wales, so maybe that was it. Edward was a Slater/Labourer in the census.
Will look at the info you have provided and see what I think.
Many thanks to all who have been helping, it is very much appreciated.
Regards Barbara

hi
THINK I HAVE HAD A BREAK THROUGH WITH THOMAS EVANS AND EDWARD AS CHILD
Place where all the census take place (to save me keep typing it in) is Gresford, Denighshire, Wales Civil parish Gresford County Denbighshire County Wales Registration district WREXHAM
1851 Census Thomas born 1822 occupation Farmer wife Ann born 1819 same place Robert born 1848
1861 Census Thomas b1820 A Farmer Jane born 1817 (Different wife) Robert 1848 Edward 1848 Eliza 1848 seem to be twins
1871 Thomas now a Publican and farmer of 10 acres Jane
Edward JOINERS APPRENTICE Eliza NO ROBERT WITH HIM NOW BUT HE APPEARS WITH HIM AGAIN IN 1881
1881 Census Thomas now a widow still a publican and farmer Robert still with him a farmers son
1891 No sign of Thomas but

Unfortunately the earliest I have any of the family is 1891,
Have not been able to find them in 1881 at all. As Edward and Ellen's first child, was born in 1882 in Toxteth Park I take it they were in the Lancashire area. Of course they could have been in Bristol, where Ellen was born. I am still looking outside of the circle as much as I can trying to piece this together. Not an easy task with the name Evans.
Thanks.

Victoria,
I do not know Thomas Evans Occupation. All I know about him is that he is Edwards father. Where he is from, when/where he was born I just do not know. I realise it makes it difficult with the Evans name. The only thing I do know is that Edward was a Carpenter, maybe Thomas was also??

Minnie,
The marriage of Edward and Ellen was late for whatever reason, but it is definately my family members. According to the 1911 Census Ellen had 17 children, 5 survived. All boys. Geo Edward, Albert Martin (my grandfather) Edward, Walter and Thomas.

Hi Victoria, Yes have the above info and I was the one that put the info on the Postem. I cannot find anything on George Edward after the 1891 Census. Seems to have disappeared ((-: Would very much like to find him.
Both parents on the marriage certificate are deceased. George Carpenter was a Carpenter by trade.
Thanks.
