jax

jax Report 25 Apr 2010 21:12

No I didnt know who charles Henrys parents were when I first started this thread but I eventually found them as I posted the 1841 census when I found what could be his parents.

Not to worry I am begginning to think they are not going to be found together now

jax

jax Report 25 Apr 2010 20:34

Thanks yes that is Charles Henry born 1825 parents... stationers obviously ran in the family. Although Edward Taylor Simpson born c1852 became a cabinet maker so maybe the Stenners were relations

Edit Thomas Stenner married Elizabeth Simpson jan1851 but her father was Alexander Simpson so maybe not the right family

Ummm that could be young charles and his mum but what about his sister Alice who would be about 2 years old

jax

jax Report 25 Apr 2010 19:51

This my mums side of the family and she knew nothing about them at all apart from the fact she remembered meeting her grandparents in the 1950s but didnt like them.
I have managed to find out a lot since going back through the generations, now this is annoying me that I cannot find them in this year.
Maybe he was a pauper and she was a servant but where were the children?

I have just found the entry in the London deaths and burials for the young son Charles Edward Simpson b 1847 d 1851

It gives an address of Victoria Terrace which I assume is in Camberwell, seem to be getting a bit closer
