Have just seen your latest post. So Elizabeth and Benjamin were probably orphans at a very young age. Looks like the parents were very old though or am I getting confused! Wish they didn't always give their children the same names!

I wonder if he had the children baptised because he knew he was dying?

Baptised on 1st Jun and he was dead by end of July, How sad.... on a lighter note we know when he was born now.

I have tried looking for Alfred on the 1911 , but don't have credits...there are a number of possibles, including an Alfred with an Albert in family, down as 'Overseas Military' perhaps someone with a sub' would be able to look for you?

Well I am going by the fact that he was born in Buckinghamshire same as your William Andrew and the rest of the children are born in London eg Kensington, Hampton Court Middx etc. Also names of sibling being Charles and father being John???????

Mel, the John Birch looks right as I remember my Dad saying he thought the Birchs went back to Wales!

Tracey, not sure about the Chesneys yet. If the possible marriage that Mel found between Joseph Benjamin and Elizabeth Russell or Pearce 19 Jun 42 is the right one, the death of the older Joseph Benjamin and this marriage you've just found - to Ann Burbia - may be another Chesney family? It's so difficult to be sure when the trail goes further back! Exciting though!

there are two possible deaths for George Joshua though, which would rule him out as father to at least one of those below....lol I think I need a sleep :)
