I just can't find them in 1891.

However it looks like you've found where he comes from in Germany.

Ozibird Report 17 Jan 2010 22:31

Angela, it would be a little more helpful if you could expand your answers.

What does "yes henry" mean? Yes, you have found him on a census? If so, which one?

Also a comment on what has been found already would let us know if we're going down the right track.

Thanks, Ozi

A little bit more information, same person, same year (1998)

---I am seeking information on the Miller family in the areas of Birkenhead, Great and Little Sutton, Capenhurst, Chester, and Bromborough area. My great-great grandfather Charles Frederick Miller (went as Fred Miller) was born circa 1850 in ?Germany. The original name was Moeller but this changed to Miller when they came to the UK. This man operated a large Shorthorn cattle breeding operation, supposedly
one of the most prominent buyer and sellers of the time in England and Argentina. His herd was called the Sutton Shorthorn Herd. The family home is listed as in Birkenhead and the farm listed as 6 miles from Chester, 9 from Birkenhead, 1 from Capenhurst and 1/2 a mile from Little Sutton Station. In 1898, his son (also Charles Frederick Miller born circa 1878) married a Hannah Jones (daughter of James Jones) in Bromborough. They (Charles and Hannah) went on to have at least 4 children--Charles (who emigrated to Argentina), Harry (my grandfather who emigrated to Canada), Minnie (who remained in England) and Frank (who emigrated to Australia.) They all left around 1920 or so. I would appreciate any information on the family, the cattle operation, the farm and research in general in this area. ---
